In 2002, American Permalight became part of the Klaus Kroschke Gruppe, a family-owned and operated business based in Germany with over 60 years of experience in safety products and services. This partnership has strengthened our foundation and expanded our capabilities, allowing us to bring a broader range of innovative safety solutions to the North American market.

Our History
1988 – American Permalight® is founded to manufacture photoluminescent safety products for emergency egress.
1994 – First major installation at the World Trade Center, New York, following the bombing incident.
2001 – During the 9/11 evacuation, our markings helped guide thousands to safety.
2002 – Became a 100% subsidiary of the Klaus Kroschke Gruppe, while remaining independently operated.
2008–2009 – Our product effectiveness influenced the inclusion of photoluminescent markings in the International Building Code (IBC).
2010 – Our emergency egress system was launched to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard mission 40P.
2020 – American Permalight moves into new office to secure our growth strategy.
